Happy Earth Day everyone!
Earth Day is an occasion where we all take the time to become more conscious of the way we treat our planet, but in reality, it's something we should be aware of every single day.
It shouldn't take a holiday to remind us of the damage we've done to the earth. Every single day should be spent doing little things to conserve energy and water. Walk places! Ride your bike! Not only is it good for you, but you won't be emitting pollutants into the earth's atmosphere. Obviously, conserving water is a big (and easy) thing to do. Don't leave water running when you're brushing your teeth, limit yourself to 5-10 minute showers, make sure your faucets are never dripping, etc. Another one of my favorite methods is to go to the grocery store with reusable shopping bags; it's a great way to save paper and plastic.
One difference between Earth Day and your average day is that today is one that should really be celebrated! Go outside and enjoy the beauty of nature!!! Have a picnic with your friends or family...trust me, there's no better way to spend an afternoon.
What are you guys doing to celebrate Earth Day???

Happy Earth Day to you!! Hope you had a great day and I must confess: I didn't celebrate today.. :( but next year, I promise ;)
Hey Mischa,
Sounds great Happy Earth Day!!!
Well, I'm not eating meat everyday. It's not healthy and cow are nocive for the air, because these animals produce almost metano gas in the air.
I usually clean the house using few water, looking the faucets on the bath, on the kitchen and on the laundry.
Then I make as possible, but Earth needs verybody.
For children, animals, plants and us.
Bye Mischa
Earth Day should be every day. One day a year is nowhere near enough to do some significant good for the planet. We have so many environmental issues these days that we should all take measures on a global scale to make our planet a better and cleaner place.
I don’t use the phrase “Go Green”, I use the phrase “Go Green, and Stay Green”.
Kisses to you, Mrs. Barton

Hi again, Mischa!
And a happy (slightly belated) Earth Day to you too!
Well, as I'm sure you know only too well, Earth Day isn't a holiday in the UK - In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people here have never even heard of it, never mind know what it's about!! (Let's face it, today is St George's Day, and we don't even celebrate that in the same way that the Scottish, Welsh and Irish celebrate St Andrew's Day, St David's Day and St Patrick's Day, so what chance does Earth Day stand???....)
So what did I do on Earth Day? Well, I had to go shopping, which meant using the car (yes, I know, that's bad, but there's no other way for me to get to the shops...). But I did re-use a load of shopping bags instead of using new ones, so I guess that helped to offset the damage. And after that, I did some work in the garden, where I'm setting up a system to capture rainwater from the house and garage roofs, which can then be stored and used to water the garden in place of using water from the tap. I'm also in the process of creating a patch of garden dedicated to wildlife, where things are basically allowed to run wild and there's lots of native flowers and other plants which are really beneficial to insects and birds - We've already got a pond set up especially for the frogs, who do a great job of keeping the slugs and snails under control without us having to use any nasty poisons. Once the wild corner is fully established, all the birds and insects it attracts will hopefully do the same for all the other pests, and we won't need to use any nasty chemicals at all.
And you're so right - there's nothing better than spending a few hours relaxing outside and enjoying the wonders of nature. And if you can share that experience with those you hold dearest, then that's even better... (That's one thing I love about where I live - I'm only about five minutes walk from lots of green fields and quite a number of woods, where you can spend ages watching the wildlife and enjoying the peace and quiet...)
So I hope you had a good Earth Day, and are having an equally good St George's Day, and I look forward as ever to your next update.
All my love always,
Adrian.

I am fortunate to live in a country where they are cared for and respected the environment, must be that the so-called "third world" we are so poor that we do not have the money to waste in large factories pollution.
the advantage of living in an underdeveloped country is that we learn from the mistakes of the "top" Luckily I live in a country where there is no shortage of water and is 100% water, and there are no large factories pollution ...
I am glad to live in a country (Uruguay) where we are just 3 million people, we will not have the frills but comfortable and happy living ...
say that we are the Switzerland of South America, but not if it is true ever since I was in Switzerland .. jeje
Luckily the people of this country is very aware and is working every day to care for our planet!
I am glad that you are a citizen of the world contributes more to the care of the planet, very good advice, I hope there are people that take into account ...
greetings from South America, Uruguay.

Your dress like your taste is Great!
Just your fun.
Something I've been following lately; being conscious of electricity and not wasting it and same goes for the remaining natural resources.
NO plastic bags. Recycling being the call of the day. Revert to cloth bags for shopping!
Go green*

I'm lucky to have been brought up in a family where we look after the environment but its not something we talk about because we look after the environment without realizing. I think looking after our environment should be something that is part of our life and that of course means everyday. I love that you are helping to spread the word aswell. I hate how some people are so naive that they think it is all ok when really when you hear it on the news everyday it's really not ok.
Your a real inspiration Mischa :) and I'm really loving your blog.
WOLLL it's so nice we had the awareness that the planet is our place and we have to take care of it for keep the good things, thinks and people that we love alive, we need the earth and so did she!Nice you remember and write some of your points of view here!
kisses, carol from brazil
Hi Mischa!
I was wondering (since you are one of the celebities, that I get the impression of, that cares about the enviroment)if you turned all your electrisity of (in your house) on the day it was the "world earth hour"? Like to hear if somone else also did!
Silje from Oslo, Norway
Mischa, you're such a smart woman, you use your power to do good things! That's why we're looking up to you! Congrats!
I do worry for the planet every day. Especially after I saw Al Gore's movie and some... It's so awful how people damages the world around them. And they don't realise that this planet is only we have. I don't like people who doesn't appreciate the treasure we've got... So stupid! Our world does not deserve this treatment...
I think everybody can (should!) do something, in small steps you can help, or do very little things, like showering 5 minutes, or save electricity... there's so much ways to do better.
I keep picking up everybody's trash who left it behind them, and appreciate the nature around us, and so on.
By the way, every year at Earth Day my school plant a tree ;)
Adore you, Melinda from Hungary
You must know how important to the world are those things... I really like it, in you!
You're doing a great job, don't stop!
kisses,
sabrina.
