And you're right - We all hear so much in the gossip blogs about who you're supposed to be dating, what they're like, and all that kind of thing. So it's good to hear the truth from you. (And I'm sure we all have our own opinions about all the various guys in your life, but this isn't really the place to talk about them - that's something for the various fan forums...)
No doubt there's going to be at least one guy post here having listened to your list of what you look for in a man saying "hey, that's a perfect description of me!", but I'm not going to - I may think it, but I'm certainly not going to say it!! ;) (Joking aside, I think a comment like that here would be just too crass and corny...) And it is a very sensible list too - If a relationship is going to work for you, you need someone who can see and understand the real person behind the public image, understand that to some extent they've got to share you with your fans, appreciate the stresses and strains your work puts you under, and understand that there's times you may be apart for quite a while because of work. And all that is on top of the normal things you need in any other relationship, such as liking each other, having fun together, being there for each other, and all that kind of thing. Over the years, through work and other things, I've met enough famous people to know that, very often, they do just want to be treated like everyone else, and feel quite uncomfortable when faced with the really clingy "I'm your biggest fan ever!" brigade. Millions of fans the world over may dream of meeting and falling in love with their favourite celebrity, but how often do you hear of that actually happening? And why is it so rare for something like that to happen? Mainly because the fans doing the dreaming are too obsessed with and impressed by the public image and achievements of their chosen celebrity, and don't see the real person behind it all - And so they don't meet the very first criteria you mention in your video, never mind any of the others...
And yes, I'd certainly agree with Nora's additions to the list - Although I'm sure they're already things you look for anyway, and just didn't mention in the video.
Thanks again for the update - This kind of honesty and openness really is one of the things I personally love so much about you. Others may fixate on your looks, your clothes, or your appearances in the gossip blogs, but for me, it's your personality that I love so much. It's obvious that you genuinely are such a kind and caring person, and that really comes through in your interviews and your posts here. And I'm sure you'd be that same person regardless of what you did for a living - It just so happens that you're able to use your position and profile to help raise awareness of the issues you care deeply about.
Oops - another massively long post!!! I really must learn to edit them, but once I get going, the words just seem to flow and it's so hard to stop them... *blush* (I guess that's what comes from not really using text-messaging on my phone, and prefering to actually TALK to people instead!!!)
