Hi Mischa! I also read "The Catcher In The Rye" by J.D. Salinger and I appreciated it a lot. It's fun to read -> Sexy Bastard =) It's really worth to suggest the book. I like the idea that you now have an own website where we can "communicate" and get to know the real Mischa and it's cool that you update it as often as you can.
Wish you all the best, your supporter!
And don't care what other people might write about you! I like the quote from Dalai Lama.
ps. could you maybe write the titles and the authors of your suggested books on your page? Véro(L)
Well, some really great books there - I don't get to read as much as I'd like to at the moment, but I've been meaning to read 'Laurel Canyon' for a while now. I really love reading about what was happening in music around then, and the canyon was the centre of so much of it. I've been lucky enough to meet some of the folks who were there at the time, like David Crosby, and it's great to hear things direct from them, but they never have enough time to tell you about everything, and that's where the book comes in handy...
One of my favourite books is Grace Slick's autobiography, 'Somebody to Love?'. As one of the original "wild women of rock", along with Janis, she really set the standard for so many who followed her. Another I really enjoyed reading was 'The Dirt - Motley Crue: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band' - Just how those guys are still alive really is a complete mystery!!!! I also loved reading 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' - although I think the film was better!! And the same with 'A Clockwork Orange' too - the book is good, but the film really brings it to life!
One book I'd personally recommend that people read is 'Playing It Straight', edited by David Dodd, which is a collection of short essays on addiction written by people like Dennis Hopper, Ozzy Osbourne, Joey Ramone and Steven Tyler. It's a really thought-provoking book, and should make anyone think twice before getting involved with certain chemical enhancements... I don't think its still in print, but there's usually a few copies to be found for sale on eBay.
Thanks for yet another update (I'm really having trouble keeping up with them all!!), and I hope that this pace carries on for a while!
Hi Mischa! =D Those books sound awesome. I'm definitely putting them on my list of books to read - there are a lot, though.
My favorite books are His Bright Light and No Greater Love - both by Danielle Steel - and Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs. I'm currently reading Death du Jour - also by Kathy Reichs and plan to read all of her Tempe Brennan books. I'm in love with Kathy Reichs' books!
I love your acting - you're amazing! And I hope to see more of you, both on the small screen and on the big screen.
you should read the book called watch you bleed..its the biography of axl rose and the other guns n roses band memebers and you should also read the book called heroine its the biography of nikki six hes from motley crue there both great bigoraphies of great bands and i see that you love music so i suggest these :)
btw i love how u love the 60's era and i love your hippie rockerish style and how you just do your own thing and not care what people think and dont dress like all those other girls in hollywood that all look the same..i like you cuz ur different and unique and i really like you cause of who you are and cuz ur not afraid to be who you are....seems we have that in commun ;)
PS. i wish there was a way you could reply to our comments..well not the haters one's cuz u shudnt waste ur time on those jerks.
much love huney, hope ur having a blast on ur trip
xoxo
You've gained a lot of weight and lost a lot of fans and popularity. Your dress sense and style has gone down hill, face it you're a washed up actress that to be honest never really made it. Your only claim to fame is The O.C and that ended on a low note. By doing this internet blog to try and popularize yourself again is just another morbid attempt that will only leave you with egg on your face. Just face it you are no-one and you suck as an actress, all you've got to be honest is your face and once you age it will be all gone.
The White Oreander = love. Have you watched the movie yet, with Alison Lohman?
'Whores on the Hill' is a really intriguing read (it's about a trio of Catholic schoolgirls in the 80's and their promiscuous, angsty exploits)-- and also the Jeffrey Eugenides (sp?) novel called 'Middlesex' (about a hermaphrodite who was raised as a girl, and her story that stems through generations in her Greecian family. Sounds quirky, but it's really wonderful. Very flowy, pretty language).
Well, that's it!
PS: Have you ever seen the British TV show Skins? It's my new love (next to Marion Cotillard and frozen grapes). If not, check it out sometime!
hi mischa...
u look gr8 in those pics ,i remember the time when i was in goa . i hope u loved the beaches there , there is something different in those beaches which sets them apart from the beaches in the rest of te world ,i hope u liked the weather in goa . its both fun and spiritual at the same time .hope u went to baga beach and anjuna beach . i love those beaches .where else did u went in india. hope u found ur sitar teacher ,if u need help jus ask.
hi meesh!I knew u were amazin we really have tonss of things in common I do love reading too..the first book u said must be cool I love 60's too..have u seen that movie with julia stiles?it was about that period and here in italy I can't find it anymore but it's amazin..btw I like to read science book, fantasy a lot and the ones of art cause I'm studyin art and I like restoration of painting..xoxo
Finally - A basher who's prepared to post their name, rather than hiding behind the anonymity of "Guest" or something similar. Well, Helen, I know you have the right to speak your mind, snd that others have already replied to you, but I'd like to have my $0.02 too...
Comments like the ones you've made here do seem to indicate you've maybe got some repressed jealousy towards Mischa. And as for the things you say in your post, well...
First of all, I don't think Mischa has gained any significant weight in the past couple of years - But so what if she has? EVERYONE tends to gain a little weight as they get older, some more than others. So even if Mischa HAS put on a little weight recently, then it's most likely just a part of the natural ageing process we all go through. And I don't know about anyone else here, but it doesn't bother me if she has, because I think she's still got a really nice figure. And she certainly looks so much better than all of the stick-thin celebrities we see in the various magazines still complaining about their weight, despite the fact that they're already so thin they could hide behind a microphone stand!!!
And a washed-up nobody? I don't think so!!! If she was "washed-up" as you claim, then she wouldn't have about half a dozen movies awaiting release, one currently filming, and a couple more in pre-production, would she? And that's not counting all the other things she's involved with at the moment, like her bags and headbands, plus all the various charity work she does. In fact the only use of the word "wash" I can think of here involves your mouth and some soap and water...
And as for when you say:
"all you've got to be honest is your face and once you age it will be all gone"
Well, that comment there shows just how shallow and superficial you are as a person, how much importance you place on looks, and your inability to see beyond that. To me, Mischa isn't just a stunningly beautiful woman, because I can see beyond her appearance and, thanks to this website and others, see the truly wonderful, intelligent, kind, caring and giving person behind the beautiful face. And while it's true that, just like the rest of us, her looks will change as she ages, she'll stay just as beautiful as she is now - And what she has inside won't change at all, and she'll still be the same kind and wonderful person that she is today.
One of my faves as of recently is called "The Shack" by William P. Young. It's kind of intense in the beginning but the book has a really great heart & story to it. Its a very spiritual book that might change the way you see life and look at the world. I think you'd really like it. Anyway, if you get the chance to read it let us know what you think. :D Peace <3
(Here's a description of "The Shack")
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!
Hi Mischa!
You are so beautiful.
I think the OC should have had several seasons because it was so good, I sat up days and nights. When I had way all season, I saw over and over .. When you died at the end of season three were not as good. You and Ryan were so cute together!
Did you know it was fun to play in the series OC? :) I would like to go to all places where OC was recorded it would be fun. You are my greatest idol :) You may have it so good. / Sara in Sweden
hey mischa,
I am fourteen and I live in Canada. I know alot of people are saying this, but you the type of person I aspire to be. Your personality, your style, your work with charitites, I think it's just so amazing and I really respect you as an actress because you are so talented.
As per the subject of books, I truly believe that CHUCK PALAHNIUK is god. He wrote Invisible Monsters, which is about a model who gets her jaw shot off in an accident, leaving her horribly disfigured while she embarks on a transamerica road trip stealing and selling drugs with a man and a pre-op transgender, retrospecting her unconventional life. Palaniuk's writing is shocking and grabbing and I think that you would enjoy it. I woudl recommend you buy it, because it truly makes and impact on how you see your life and you will want to read it over and over again. My running total is six times. (Fight Club, Lullaby, Diary, and Survivor, some of his other works, are equally amazing)
I have tried some bands you recommended, and I think that our musical tastes are similar. I recommend Bright Eyes and The Microphones, but I won't even get into why because I could go on forever.
I wish you all the best and I really adore your style and your hair. Although I do not have the financial resources that you have, I would like to get involved with Save The Children because I think that that cause is a truly worthy one that is helping the future.
Hi Mischa! I just love your website and its lovely to have such a good conection through the internet!
I´m a lover of old lovestories, and my favorite one is "The house of the spirits" with Isabel Allende. And the best part is that the book is in a thrilogy with "Daughter of Fortune" and "Portrait i Sepia". All three are the absolutly best books I have ever read in my whole life. Hope you´ll enjoy then and fell free to write what you thougt about them!
Will read some of the books actually. Just because I think the taste in books can tell a lot about someone. Like book suggestions, buy so many all the time (and yes, read them).
my favorite author is Sarah Dessen. I read an amazing book by her called "the truth about forever" it about a girlw ho sees her father die and than she becomes closed up and queit. her boyfriend basically keeps her in line because hes smart and law abding and very well neat. When he goes away for the summer, she meets a guy name Wes who shows her not to be afraid to people in.
I also read another book by her called "this lullaby" which is about a girl whose father left when she was jsut a baby and he was afamous singer. He wrote her a song that became really popular and she hates the song, its a good book, and its again about love, I just LOVE romance novels. (yes I love twilight but I am not OBSESSED)
I re-read "Catcher In The Rye" at least 3 times a year!
I also love "The Great Gatsby", "The Stranger", and "Closer".
