So guys India has been amazing. A little frenetic, as they do things a little different here! So it's been tough with the long shoot days to check in much! But the people are amazing, so eager to please and I've learned so much from them.
I've been having an amazing spiritual exploration visiting Hindu temples and learning about Buddhism, both beautiful religions. Hyderabad where we're filming is a real inspiration in the fact that Christians, Muslims and Hindus all get along so harmoniously. I must admit I used to make fun of people who were all into yoga and chai tea thinking it was another ridiculous health fad. But now I'm that person! First of all Masala Chai tea, the traditional way with milk and sugar is delicious, and this is coming from a brit who only likes my breakfast tea!
I must say my goal coming here was to learn to play the sitar and it's coming along real slow as apparently it's not that easy to procure a great sitar teacher here, I guess it not late 60's with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison roaming around unfortunately!!!!
Goa was my christmas break, and it was stunning, I actually went to South Goa (which isn't the party side of town) thats the North bit, but I'll post tons of footage for you guys out there. If only technology didn't hate me and I was decent with electronics! But I went parasailing, jet skiing and swimming in the ocean for ages every day. The colors, fabrics, food will blow your mind....so stay tuned to see me on my vacation and what I got up to.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANUKAH and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! xx

It sounds so amazing and I can't wait to see the footage!!!
I'll definetly have to try Masala chai tea.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you to Mischa!! Thats for being such a great role model to me for so many years!
Bee
Hi again, Mischa!
Well, it certainly sounds like you've been having a great time out there - A lot more fun than I've been having stuck here in cold and windy old England!! (You really don't want to know how cold it's been around here!!!!.....) And yes, I'm definitely looking forward to the videos and pictures of what you've been up to.
So you went parasailing then? That's something I've never tried myself - paraCHUTING, yes (with the RAF, no less!!!), but not parasailing. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the water, as I've never been a really great swimmer, so I'd probably go more for paragliding over land, rather than parasailing over the sea!! (I really love flying - It's such an amazing feeling, isn't it??!)
And I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed learning all about the different cultures and religions out there - That's something I love doing too, because I think we all have so much to learn from each other. I really hate people who's attitude is that their way is the only way, everyone else is inferior simply because they're different or believe in different things, and that everyone should all be and do the same. It's just such an arrogant attitude, and completely ignores the lessons to be learned from other cultures. And that's why I love travelling around and meeting people, and also using the internet - Through that, I've become friends with people all around the world (partly thanks to you!), and have learned so much about their countries, lifestyles and cultures. And, while that's great, nothing really beats actually being there and experiencing it for yourself, does it? (And that's why I'm soooo jealous of you at the moment!!!!! *HUGE wink*)
You're trying to learn the sitar? Now that's ambitious!!!! I know someone over in the US who does play it, and they say it's not easy - Even though they're a really fantasic guitarist, it's taken them years to get to where they are now, and they've still got a long way to go before they completely master it. But I'm sure that if you asked Ravi nicely, he'd give you a few lessons!!!! (Lessons from Ravi Shankar - Wow, can you imagine how amazingly cool that would be???!!! He's an amazing musician, isn't he??!!!)
And I'm sure that technology doesn't really hate you - You're just not used to using it and need some more practice, that's all... And the best way to get that practice? Well, how about posting here as often as possible and sharing all of your great pictures and videos with us? I think that should get you up to speed on everything, and you'll soon be as good as the rest of us!! ;)
Anyway, I don't want to go on for too long (what's that? Too late - again??? Yes, I know, I do tend to write long messages, don't I???!!!... *blush*). I hope you carry on having a great time over there, and I look forward to all of your updates with the pictures and videos of everything you've been up to over the past few days. Take care of yourself, and have fun!
All my love always,
Adrian.
Oops - I forgot to say happy new year!!!! *blush*
So:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Adrian.
HAPPY NEW YEAR MISCHA!
Can you tell me how you became a model? It would be really fun to learn.
ELIN OLSSON FROM SWEDEN!!
happy new year
Yeeee that sounds realy nice.I'm looking forward for this pictures.
Happy New Year xoxo
Hi Mischa !
Well, good for you.. having fun and discovering a new things, I think you're smart and get learning fast, so, that's why you're enjoying your time there.
We noticed that you were drinking something in your post while you were with Hania, shopping. So, I guess you were drinking Masala tea, right ?
By the way, Syria ( my country )has the same environment, I mean, the fact that Christians, Muslims all get along so harmoniously.. You really should visit it sometimes Mischa, as I said before, please be my guest !
I am inviting you to visit Syria in April if you want ( I'll be there to attend my sister's wedding...You're invited too ) I promise you will have a lot of fun there.. feel free to ask me anything you want to know.. believe me I'll make a great trip plan for you, and your family are welcome ofcourse..

Omg, Misha, I must say that I think you're the most beautiful woman in the world. You've been my idol for so long right now, if I looked like you i'd been happy. Then you seem like a warm and great person as well. And I'm really not buying the things that they say in the papers. So I guess I should excuse every misstake I've written here, I'm from Sweden in Europe so my english ain't the very best.. But I wish you all the best! Keep up the good work, everybody loves you here in Sweden!
Matilda
Bonne année Mischa !!! ( Happy new year in French ).
happy holidays to u too..xoxo!!!
I notice there have been no comments within this update questioning whether Mischa really is writing these posts, and rightly so. Her enthusiasm is unmistakeable and really shines throw on this update. Any conspiracy theorists have surely been shown up by their lack of faith and trust.
"I've been having an amazing spiritual exploration visiting Hindu temples and learning about Buddhism, both beautiful religions."
To me, the one thing which really stands out about India is its culture and heritage. I remember watch the documentary series Paul Merton in India this year, and I was astounded about how varied the country is, it really must be a fun and exciting country to see and experience.
"Hyderabad where we're filming is a real inspiration in the fact that Christians, Muslims and Hindus all get along so harmoniously."
3 different religious peoples at peace?! What is this world coming to! I thought segregation and war was the only way to deal with other religions!
"If only technology didn't hate me and I was decent with electronics!"
Every time I go down my aunty and uncle's house there is always another problem they need me to fix! I've been using computers all my life and had to learn it from scratch, just like anything else. The difference is that most people are expected to have a good understanding of technology. To build up a good understanding of technology you must put the time in, and not be afraid to have a go yourself. For example, my nan is pretty much a technophobe, however, when I was installing her set-top box for her television I let her add all her channels and got her to learn how to use it herself, and she is now very competent with it.
Technology is probably one of the most frustrating things to get used to, and has left me almost bawling in certain circumstances, but every one of those moments has led me down the path of technological enlightenment, and in those rare moments when everything is working, it is electronic bliss.
There's no doubt in my mind that if you really wanted to learn more about computing, electronics and technology in general, you could do it. Technology is basically logic with a large helping of trial and error, with a main course of experience. I couldn't even dream of trying my hand at acting, working with complex emotions and playing someone other than yourself would seem totally alien to me. Sometimes I can barely work out who I am, in the scheme of things, let alone play someone else!
Hope everyone had a brilliant holiday season, bring on the new year!

"I notice there have been no comments within this update questioning whether Mischa really is writing these posts, and rightly so. Her enthusiasm is unmistakeable and really shines throw on this update. Any conspiracy theorists have surely been shown up by their lack of faith and trust."
Yes, I'm very glad to see that too! And you're right - It is just so obvious that it really is Mischa at the keyboard for these posts! But, just in case the doubters do return, I'm still here to take them on as and when needed!!!
"Technology is probably one of the most frustrating things to get used to, and has left me almost bawling in certain circumstances, but every one of those moments has led me down the path of technological enlightenment, and in those rare moments when everything is working, it is electronic bliss."
I know that feeling!!!! When it comes to the finer points of how to fix computer problems, I'm pretty much self-taught through having to fix my own computers when they go wrong. The computer courses I did at university were all about stuff like data analysis, programming and interfacing, and we didn't do anything at all about how a computer actually works on the technical level. And now, even friends who've done Masters degrees in computing ask me for help when their computers go wrong. And yes, when you finally find the solution to the problem, the feeling of satisfaction, knowing that you've done it all yourself, is really great!
"I couldn't even dream of trying my hand at acting, working with complex emotions and playing someone other than yourself would seem totally alien to me."
Exactly how I felt before I started working as a museum tour guide when I first finished school! The thought of standing up in front of a bunch of complete strangers and talking to them for several hours, trying to keep their attention, and make the whole thing interesting for them - and all without a script to follow - absolutely terrified me!! But, somehow, I made it through the first few tours and, after a while, started to really enjoy it and ended up as one of the top people there. And now, things like that don't hold any real fear for me and feel quite natural, as if it's what I've always been supposed to do. And I'm sure that's how acting and becoming different people feels for Mischa.
And Pernille, you wrote:
"But how do you get so skinny? :)
I havent eat on a week or something and I almost live at the gym, but I dont look as pretty as you or skinny :p . do you exercise alot ? or are you just born perfect ?:)"
Oh, please don't do stuff like that to yourself!! Don't go starving yourself and things like that just so you can try and look like Mischa. I'm sure she'd be the first to tell you that you have to be yourself, be happy with your own body, and eat properly. Going without food and things like that, just so you can look like someone else isn't a good thing, as I'm sure you must realise if you sit down and think about it. And, just for the record, I'm sure Mischa has said in interviews that she doesn't exercise to stay slim - she's just got a fast metabolism and burns the food off that way...
Adrian.
Oh technology ghates you two. I swear everything I get doesn't work for any reason even my moms new boyfriend ahs noticed!
Hope your christmas was great (mine was awesome) and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Don't get to drunk ;)
Mischa,
Its gonna take alot of hindu, temple, crap-BS to save your career!!!!! If I were you I would take up the sitar full time and try to find another job. I hope in 2009 you have some real acting work lined up for yourself. Stay in India where you belong. The blogs in the states HATE you and so do movie producers. Who are your friends in this business? If this is you writing and not your "people" answer me that.
Hey Mischa!
So glad to hear that you're enjonying all new things in India. All you fans will be so looking forward for your update pictures and footage.
Christmas in my country(Myanmar)is just boring. There's not much Christmas Spirit around here.
But the best thing was our family was able to be together every Christmas.
Ok..Have fun in India!
Your fan from Burma,
Dora
Anna Anna Anna, what the matter with you ? why can't you handle the fact that Mischa is really having a loooooooot of fans? It is normal ofcourse since she is such a wonderful person
( as you can see from her blog ) and great actress!
Is that because you have so much anger and feeling resentment because of Mischa's success, advantage ? Do you know this is typically the Jealous definition ?
" If I were you I would take up the sitar full time and try to find another job" Good so please go and find another job Anna, because this job you're doing here's stupid, So, stop publishing here, it is so clear how YOU are despratly trying to change the facts, and denying that Mischa's still and always will be Popular..and guess what ? she has from all the world a lot of crazy people about her ( I mean in the positive way )..
Do you call all the people here ( who're writing from Sweden, Brazil, Argantina, UK, Italia, Burma, USA, Thailand, Russia,Romania, including me Originaly from Syria and writing from Canada ) her Friends ???? are you serious? Well, Open your eyes and look carefuly..
By the way, are you an actress or something? how the hell do you know that " the producers hate Mischa" ???? Annabell... why don't you get a LIFE?
Hello Mischa,
Happy New Year.
This is the first time for me to send a comment here. I'm a Japanese, living in the city close to Kyoto. It's very close to Lake Biwa, which is my favorite place. I like you because of your cute eyes and good sight for fashion. I think your eyes show you're a spirited, emotional and affectionate girl. I believe your eyes are the gift which enables you to see the truth of things, so that you can make yourself stylish. Your sense of style always touches me, even though I am a man who does not know about fashion at all. These days I've become to think fashion consciousness is important, not only so that Japanese girls may like me, but so that I can let my internal out. I believe this is owing to you. Enjoy your new year and I really hope your good luck in the next year. And sorry for my bad English...
So much you to Good Capodanno 2009
and strong embraces your friend PIERO
from Genua ITALY

Oh, Annabell!!!
(Just as we thought the bashers had given up... :()
Despite what you seem to think, Mischa's career doesn't need "saving" at all, because there's nothing at all wrong with it. If you took the time to look carefully, you'd see that she's got several movies awaiting release - some due out very soon, according to the available information. And I'm sure she's got several other projects coming up that she can't talk about just yet. Plus she's doing really well with her bags and headbands too, so I don't think her career is in any kind of trouble - and certainly not the kind you seem to think it is!
And, as Nora has already pointed out, just how do you know that the producers "hate" Mischa? Do you know that for certain, or are you just another of those Mischa-haters who somtimes come here claiming to have some sort of "inside knowledge", but fold and vanish when challenged to prove it? If you read the interviews and articles, you'd know that she's got lots of friends there, including people like a certain Lord Attenborough. And as for the blogs, don't you realise that, in most cases, it's their job to appear to hate anyone famous and successful - even if the writer actually likes the person in question? They're there to be sarcastic and controversial, and to try and puncture the over-inflated ego that many celebrities (but not Mischa) seem to have... Sure there are a few really spiteful blogs out there, and those are the ones where people like myself post in defence of Mischa whenever we find them. But most of them are pretty harmless really, and it's only those of comparatively low intelligence who actually believe the rubbish they write...
And you doubt it actually is Mischa writing the posts? Well, go and listen to some of her interviews, and how she talks in them, and then compare those to the posts here - I think you'll find that there's such a huge similarity between them, there shouldn't be any doubt that it IS Mischa who's writing the posts here. I don't doubt it, and neither do any of the other true Mischa fans I know...
Adrian.
Mischa, Hi, again this day.
If you excuse me, I have something to add to my previous comment.
"These days I've become to think fashion consciousness is important, not only so that Japanese girls may like me, but so that I can let my internal out. I believe this is owing to you."
I didn't mean I was interested in dragging-up owing to you.
It occured to me that you readers could be misleaded.
I didn't notice it when I was writing my previous one, because I'm not good at English as natives. I'm sorry.
I mean, it is your only spirit of high touch that has affected me.
By the way, I feel glad you're in India, where is closer to Japan than US or UK is. Take care of yourself.
Inu-keep
greetings from Brazil, Mischa.
Hi nice to see you Mischa;)I happened to find your blog and am glad to see that.Because I had seen The OC also had seen YOU!!You are one of the most beautiful woman in this world I guess. So anyway Happy holidays and new year xxx
hi again,if your ever going to visit the England again, back home, after all you are from london, plz post so i can see you id be sooo happy and itll all be cool, 2009 is nearly here and it would be great if you could cus 2008 wasnt too great 4 me :P
Jay,
If you want to get the latest news on where Mischa is, where she's going to be, and what she's doing, I suggest you keep an eye on the established fan forums, as the folks on those are very good at finding the latest news - often before Mischa posts about it here! The two main ones are the one run by Sam at www.mischa-b.com, and the one run by Jo at http://mischaforums.proboards50.com (That's the one I use...). Both are pretty active on a daily basis (with occasional slow periods), and it just depends on which one you personally prefer.
And I'm sure we'll be seeing Mischa back here in the UK soon enough...
hello their mischa
i hope you having a great time visiting INDIA. i would try to persuade you to go to other parts of India. may be you will find more diversity in INDIA then any other place in the world. just visit RAJASTHAN and then may some places in northern part of India you will see the difference between the east west and north region. if you have time do also visit the eastern region each has its unique blend of lifestyle and flavour of life.
Note: if you want to learn sitar you have to visit places like Allahabad in (Jttar Pradesh) or places like Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). in southern you will find only "vina vadak" an instrument similar to sitar but little different. if you want to learn sitar you have to visit the northern region of India may be the capital India Delhi.
good day, happy journey
and happy new year

Hey Mischa !!
Happpy New Year !!

Olivia
Yes adrian you're right. Mischa has an AWESOME career. this year she was nominated for............nothing. I live and work in the US. Here in the US we think Mischa is the crappiest actress ever. People like me are on this blog because it is RIDICULOUS to watch everyone defend Mischa Barton. she is a has-been/wannabe/craptastic actress. SHE SUCKS. No, it's not jealousy Nora. It's something much better...pure boredom. if you live in Calafornia, which I do, you know who the A-list and D-list celebrities are. Usually there are a couple of celebs that you really dislike because there are such idiots and do and say dumb stuff. Mischa is one of those celebs. The British can have her! AGAIN, SHE SUCKS!!!!!!
I disagree with Anna. I live in the states and Mischa B. is not hated as much as someone like Paris Hilton. I haven't heard of Mishca B. doing anything too terrible. I loved the OC! Mischa may not do anything in America now but it sounds like she has a good career over seas. Good For You!
Happy New Year first of all. I was reading through your post, and im indian, but was born in the UK :) My dads side of family is Buddhist and mums is sikh.. but im erm athiest. Anyway what i was going to say was. Its quite a surprise you like the masala chai- its really.. heavy in comparison to the everday cup of tea (because of the overload of milk), i myself only drink it on my visits to india! Indian food.... accosiated with large quantities of spices and chili, indeed blows my mind. and also if your new to it Some peoples butts (had to be said) ... :)
Once again happy new year
x
"I live and work in the US. Here in the US we think Mischa is the crappiest actress ever."
If you think your opinion is shared by everyone in the US, then you should see a psychiatrist.
"People like me are on this blog because it is RIDICULOUS to watch everyone defend Mischa Barton. she is a has-been/wannabe/craptastic actress. SHE SUCKS."
No, people like you are on this blog because you either suffer from extreme jealousy, or you are so full of hate that you cannot stand to see happiness, demonstrated by both Mischa and fans.
"No, it's not jealousy Nora. It's something much better...pure boredom."
Being bored gives you the excuse to spread hate? I suggest you do something much better with your time, like finding happiness. Or better yet, take a refresher course on the English Language, and visit that psychiatrist I said about earlier.
"The British can have her!"
Where do I sign?!
By the way, just by living in California does not give you a gift of judging people's status.
----
Happy new year Mischa, and every other fan!
Well said, G-Man!!!!
People who think they speak for everyone in their nation definitely have delusions of grandure! And yes, the only reasons for someone who claims to hate Mischa to be posting here are either because they're insanely jealous of Mischa and her success, or because they're so twisted and spiteful that they can't bear to see other people enjoying themselves.
And how does living in a certain state of the US give you some mystical power to sense and determine someone's celebrity status? I could just as easily say that, because I live in England, I can tell who's true royalty and who isn't... Comments like that just reinforce one of my favourite quotes/jokes about Calfornia (the one comparing it to a box of breakfast cereal...)
As for "The British can have her!", well, if the US doesn't want Mischa, we'd be only TOO happy to have her back in the country of her birth, because there are certainly people here who do love and respect her...
Anyway, enough of that - It's just under two hours until 2009, so:
Happy New Year to one and all!!!!
(And a very special Happy New Year to our beautiful angel, Mischa!!...)
Hi.In Russia we have already met New year. I wish all good luck, health and all the best. I have already met all friends familiar, have called all people expensive to me. All new - this well forgotten old)
Hi everyone!

Have a great New Year everyone!
Mischa I cant wait for the footage .
I'm glad you liked India! Its nice there I've been.
Happy New Year
Mischa Barton.....
HAPPY NEW YEAR
-Jakarta, Indonesia-
Yes Mischa has a awesome career, FYI:
She's filming now, and launching a headband line for Stacey Lapidus and already has a handbag collections.
For fall ’09, Mischa plans to work a Seventies vibe.. without mentioning that she's studying many offers for acting in the latest series
( like Ugly betty ) All that doesn't satisfied you miss Annabell ? remember that Mischa's 22 years old and doing all these stuff, So, what do you want her to do more ?
Hey, by the way, how can you say that " all US hate Mischa" ??
let me remind you that when Mischa's role finished in the O.C seris, most of the people (US especially) stopped watching it!!! RIGHT ?
I suppose you were the first one who's quitted OC but you can't admit it!! can YOU ?
Anna I just wanna know, why do you have this much hate and anger inside you ? at least as you can see, Mischa doesn't had any bad history as the others... doesn't made any kind of stupid things as many of her age, did!!
She's so sweet and respectful person, serious, commited to her family ( always her mom and her sister are with her, wherever she goes)...
How could you after all say bad lies about her?
HAPPY NEW YEAR MISCHA ! please ignore this kind of people and don't listen to them.. WE LOVES YOU!
We're waiting for your updates :-)
Happy New Year everybody!!
Nora
Well said, Nora!!
One little point I forgot to pick up on in Annabell's post was the bit about Mischa not being a success because she wasn't nominated for any awards in 2008. So what? There's plenty of hugely successful performers out there in all fields who didn't get nominated for anything last year - Does that mean that they're ALL failures? Of course it doesn't - All it means is that the ones who draw up the lists of nominations decided not to pick them that year, and that's ALL it means. Despite what a lot of people seem to think, awards are not a measure of success or failure, just an indication that what someone has done over a certain period meets the criteria set down by a small group of people - A group who are often unrepresentative of the more general population.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR MISCHA ! please ignore this kind of people and don't listen to them.. WE LOVES YOU!
We're waiting for your updates :-)"
I totally agree!!!!
I hope you've all had a good New Year, with no lasting after-effects. And all my best to you, Mischa - I hope everything is still going well for you there in India!
All my love always,
Adrian.
Hey Micha!
Like many other people I dream of meeting you, dont listen to the haters out there, u are AMAZING! I love your work, especially the OC, I loved it and re-watch the box set regularly. "Bring back the OC!!!" lol, well i know i probably have no chance in the world of ever meeting you, but i will continue to hope! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and all the best of luck for 2009!

I haven't got the chance to go there yet but I hear from my friends most of the time.
Oh and about the electronics thing I'm sure they can hate you because seriously nobody can ever hate you even if they tried to.
hope I hear from you again!

hey mischa :)
Jay
xx
Hi, Jay!
Yes, I know I do post a fair bit here, but that's mainly because I'm one of those who are willing to take on those who only come here to bash Mischa. They come here spouting their insults and lies, and someone has to provide a balance to their point of view and rebutt the falsehoods they post. There's others on Jo's forum who do that on other websites (some are even brave enough to take on Perez...), and I've kind of become the one to do it here.
So my first post here in each thread is usually a direct reply to whatever Mischa has posted in the form of an update. After that, they're either reponses to any bashers who stop by, or replies to posts by people like yourself who maybe have questions relating to Mischa and that I'm capable of answering. The more bashers post, or the more questions I'm able to answer, the more I post here - It's as simple as that!
So do I post here a lot? Yes, I do. But you know what? - I enjoy it. And not because I'm getting some kind of cheap thrill from it, hoping that posting here a lot will impress Mischa, or anything like that. No - I enjoy taking on the bashers and showing them up for what they are, and because I'm getting to know other people from all around the world who've also fallen under the spell of the beautiful Mischa Anne...
(If you look at most internet forums etc, you'll see that there's usually a small group of "core members" who are responsible for up to 1/3 of the total posts - And it doesn't matter what the subject matter of the forum is either, it always turns out that way. I guess I'm just becoming one of the "core members" here, along with Nora, Dora, G-Man and a couple of other regulars...)
Anyway, all the best to you, and who knows - maybe we'll even meet up sometime at one of Mischa's public appearances in the UK!!
Adrian.
Mischa,
Do you have any updates on your movies that will be coming out in 2009?

Dear Ms. Barton,
Regarding your search for a sitar teacher while in India:
I can recommend several (in different cities). I would be happy to connect you with them so that you many further your studies. I have been playing for 21 years and wish you all the best.
Jai Guru Deva, OM!
Peace,
Roger
