December 2008 Archives

So guys India has been amazing. A little frenetic, as they do things a little different here! So it's been tough with the long shoot days to check in much! But the people are amazing, so eager to please and I've learned so much from them.

I've been having an amazing spiritual exploration visiting Hindu temples and learning about Buddhism, both beautiful religions. Hyderabad where we're filming is a real inspiration in the fact that Christians, Muslims and Hindus all get along so harmoniously. I must admit I used to make fun of people who were all into yoga and chai tea thinking it was another ridiculous health fad. But now I'm that person! First of all Masala Chai tea, the traditional way with milk and sugar is delicious, and this is coming from a brit who only likes my breakfast tea!

I must say my goal coming here was to learn to play the sitar and it's coming along real slow as apparently it's not that easy to procure a great sitar teacher here, I guess it not late 60's with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison roaming around unfortunately!!!!

Goa was my christmas break, and it was stunning, I actually went to South Goa (which isn't the party side of town) thats the North bit, but I'll post tons of footage for you guys out there. If only technology didn't hate me and I was decent with electronics!  But I went parasailing, jet skiing and swimming in the ocean for ages every day. The colors, fabrics, food will blow your mind....so stay tuned to see me on my vacation and what I got up to.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANUKAH and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! xx

My Christmas's with my family have always been fairly traditional.  Christmas dinners with turkey, gravy, sage and onion stuffing, peas, carrots and parsnips.  There would also be green vegetables and roasted potatoes followed by Christmas pudding with brandy cream on top.  We would always have a fully decorated Christmas tree with all the gifts stuffed beneath it on Christmas morning.

My fondest memory when I was a child was that every Christmas morning, gifts would magically appear under the tree and what was funny was that the gifts would almost be scattered in a trail and footprints would be leading into the room hinting that they had been delivered by none other than St. Nick himself! Just when I began to suspect it was my parents they took it a step further and hired a Santa to come in!

This Christmas, because I'm in India filming Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, my family will be spending the holidays here with me! This will be a little different from all of our previous Christmas's but our goal is to at least manage a traditional Christmas dinner.

Take a look at the photos I included.  The first one is of me and my sister Hania in New York City when I was five and she was three, and the other two are of my dogs Charlie and Ziggy.

How does your family celebrate the holidays?

Check out Audrina's, Brody's, Kim's, Khloe's and Whitney's sites to hear about their holiday memories.

With filming taking up so much of my time right now, it's hard to find a spare minute to keep you guys up to date on what's going on with me. Luckily, I had this short video that was shot right before I left for India. Have a look to hear more about Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, which I'm shooting right now, as well as my next film to be released, Assassination of a High School President.

Hey everyone! I've just begun filming Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain in Hyderabad, India -- it's truly amazing to have the opportunity to work in such an unbelievable place. I love being able to experience different cultures and lifestyles by exploring my surroundings as much as I possibly can. Luckily, I had a break from filming, so I took that opportunity to check out a local market with my sister Hania and my friend Kal Penn. We caught some of it on tape, so if you want to get a better look at our little excursion, watch the videos below (sorry if they're a little shakey).

Traveling takes up a lot of your time when you are an actress. Having been an actress since I was very young, I have been all over the world. When I sit down and think about all of the places I have been, I realize just how many it actually is! I was born in London, moved to New York, and just recently settled down in Paris (even though Dubai is my new favorite! Shhh!)

Every place has a different culture, and I love experiencing them all! Since I am constantly on the go, I wanted to share my top 10 favorite cities with you.

London
New York
Paris
Los Angeles
San Tropez
Geneva
Tokyo
Madrid
Milan
Dubai

I love being adventurous and going new places, so if you know of any good travel destinations, drop it in a comment and tell me what you love to do there!

After spending some time in Dubai, I headed over to Paris for a short period of time with my mom, and then jetted off to London with my sister. I absolutely love being in Europe -- everything about it just makes me feel so at home. I'll soon be leaving London for India where I will begin filming Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain. I'll keep all of you posted with videos and photos from the set!

Watch this video to hear more on my feelings regarding two of my favorite cities: London and Paris!

What are your favorite cities???

It was reported in last week's issue of InTouch Magazine that I am currently dating Jon Sadoff from the band thenewno2.  I would just like to set the record straight and say that I am not, nor have I ever been, dating Jon!  Jon and I met a few months ago through mutual friends at a concert in LA and we have been good friends since.  We have a similar taste in music and we always have a great time together, but it is completely platonic!

As for the "hand-holding" at the T-Mobile G1 event mentioned in the story -- If any "hand-holding" did go on, it was done only to lead each other through crowds or while dancing.  It's so funny to me the conclusions that are often drawn from the most insignificant of details!  People need to stop reading so far into things.

Yesterday I posted a few photos from the Grand Opening celebration of the Palms Atlantis Resort in Dubai, but I also had these two videos that I thought you all might like to check out!

The party was absolutely incredible, as you'll see in the videos, and I had the best time hanging out with Mary-Kate, Lindsay, Samantha and everyone else seated at our table.

Click here to see another short video from the party!

Here are some photos from the Grand Opening celebration of the Palms Atlantis Resort in Dubai.  It was so much fun because I got to sit with some friends of mine including Mary-Kate Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, and the designer, Matthew Williamson who you might remember from a previous post of me wearing one of his dresses!  Some of the photos aren't that clear, but I hope you enjoy them anyway!
